AIRLINE FAILURE. Skyways, the Swedish regional airline which flies to about 35 Swedish and European destinations, files for bankruptcy, only little over a year after the company was taken over by new owners.
According to news sources, the Ukraine billionaire that purchased the company in 2011, had stopped Skyway’s funding, as he reportedly did with another of his airlines, Danish Sterling, only weeks before.
Skyway’s pilots were asked to bring their planes back to base on Monday, in preparation for the bankruptcy, Swedish media reported on Tuesday.
