The world’s 20 best beaches 2014

Yeah, we know, winter sucks. Unless of course you find time, money and strength enough to go skiing. But before you hit the slopes, and when you're back home again, you can always dream away over these fine photos of the world's best beaches.

There are no shortage of lists on the Internet featuring the world’s best beaches – in fact, some time ago we even put together a list over the best beach ranking lists to try to bring some order in the chaos.

(While we’re at it, in our Video Center you can also enjoy a lengthy TV documentary covering a selection of the best dunes around for taking a swim, show off or chill out.)

But beach trends change, and with winter upon us, at least up here in the Northern hemisphere (this was written in New York City), we figured it’d be a good idea to once again scan through the latest beach ranking lists to find out what lies ahead beach-wise for 2014.

So, in no particular order, this is our selection of the World’s 20 Best Beaches for 2014. The photos speak for themselves, but we’ve also provided a few good beach links at the bottom of the page.
