
Mid East, Arctic, Pakistan: New travel warnings
GO OR NOT. Ranging from the Arctic to Syria, Pakistan and the Ivory Coast, here are the latest travel warnings issued by governments:
• The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) in Canada has updated the travel advisory for Nigeria in response to Thursday’s attacks on This Day, a Nigerian newspaper, the National Post reports.
• The Foreign Office of the UK warns that “you should be aware that search and rescue capabilities are limited due to the large distances between populated areas,” a warning regarding travels in the Arctic, The Forigner reports.
• Israel has issued a warning regarding Sinai, which has triggered an irritated response from Egypt, Eturbonews reports.
• The US Department of State has issued warnings regarding Bahrain, The Ivory Coast and, on April 26, Pakistan. The Pakistan warning ranges over the next two weeks, although the department did not give any specific reasons, the Times of India reports.
