COUP IN MALI. Modibo Sidibé, Mali’s former prime minister, and several other politicians were arrested during nighttime between Monday and Tuesday. The information comes from members of their families, according to news agencies. The politicians were taken to a military camp used as headquarter by the rebels who overthrew the government in Mali last month. Last Thursday, the rebels had the speaker of Mali’s parliament, Dioncunda Traoré, installed as an interim president.

Several countries have issued travel warnings regarding the insecure situation since the coup in Mali, northwestern Africa.
